 The Opening of Destination Africa with the participation of 15 African countries

International Textiles Sourcing B2B Event & Conference

The opening of the 2nd edition of Destination Africa is taking place today.

Destination Africa is the pan-African B2B sourcing event held with the aim of showcasing the production capabilities of the textile & apparel industry in Africa rendering it the leading African event in the industry.

Destination Africa is a joint effort organized by the Egyptian Ready Made Garments Export Council, the Textile Export Council, the Home Textiles Export Council and the Egyptian Exporters Association - Expolink.

The 2-days event will include 3 main activities, a regional exhibition, an international conference and seminar as well as networking functions. With over 84 manufacturers from 15 countries spanning the African continent and showcasing their products over a space of 1,000 square meters, Destination Africa provides manufacturers with unparalleled export opportunities and exposure to both regional and international markets. The countries taking part as exhibitors include Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Egypt, South Africa, Mauritius and Ghana.

Over 200 international buyers from the world’s major retail chains, manufacturers & agents are attending this years’ event, displaying their interest in making optimum use of the opportunities African suppliers have to offer, in terms of both  production capabilities and various preferential trade agreements.

Buyers, manufacturers, investors and stakeholders from all over the world are gathering in Cairo to explore the various product collections from different African destinations to support the growth and development of the textiles manufacturers in Africa as well as in support of the economic development of these countries.

Destination Africa is also an attraction for visitors to join its international conference platform where a number of international speakers, all experts in different areas of the industry, discuss industry related topics. Visitors will learn about the latest developments in the African industry, the opportunities and the challenges. The platform is arranged in partnership with the International labor Organization to raise awareness of the steps the continent is taking towards providing sustainable and ethical sourcing.
