 Expolink Launches Third Edition of Destination Africa

Expolink have launched a reception for the Third Edition of “ Destination Africa”, the Pan-African B2B event.  The event was attended by several African Embassies, key industry players and press. The third edition will be held on the 17th to 19th of November 2018 in The Royal Maxim Kempinski Hotel.  Last session of 2017 had 72 exhibitors from 6 African Countries: Egypt, Kenya, Mauritius, Ethiopia, South Africa and Nigeria. The sourcing event also welcomed 205 international buyers from all over the world and from countries such as: USA, Turkey, Italy, France and Portugal.  Destination Africa showcases readymade garments, home textiles, yarns, fabrics  and accessories, as well as an international conference with key speakers from all over the world.  In the reception Mr. Mohamed Kassem stressed that in the third session there is a 50% increase in exhibition space; which will lead to an increase of the sourcing event to 3 days instead of 2 days.  Also, Mr. Samer Riad highlighted that the potential of Africa as a sourcing Hub is not yet fully explored and that’s the aim of “Destination Africa”.  He also added that in the third session there will be 150 African manufacturers over 1,500 sqm and the B2B event will be targeting 300 major specialized buyers.  It’s worth noting that in 2017 some of prominent buyers visiting the sourcing event were as follows:  Hugo Boss, Macy’s, Ralph Lauren, PVH, VF and United Colors of Benetton.
