JADE TEXTILE BIGGEST READY TO WEAR APPAREL EXPORTER IN EGYPT FOR THE FORTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR

In aligning with the Global trends to preserve the environment and face the consequences of climate change, industrial sector in Egypt focused on spreading circular economy culture like the principle of recycling and sustainable development with its long and short-term plans.

Since We - Jade Textile - succeeded in being the biggest Egypt's ready-made garments exporter for the last four years as well as planning to reach twelve thousand employees by 2025, in addition to have our own social responsability goals towards the nature, we give a great importance to the sustainability achieving which is the foremost of our corporate values and we systematically carry out a great deal of work; therefore, I have started the green initiative by establishing Green Jade team.

Green Jade team is a formed one from different departments under management of Co CEO directly and this team has a green vision aiming to achieve and spread the green economy principles and pillars in the industrial environment in parallel with Yesim company (the mother company in Turkey).

Sustainability is one of our top priorities. We are talking about sustainability in every subject. We have great responsibilities towards the environment and nature as we are implementing serious goals in this area on the way to 2025.

The name of November is “Sustainability “

Jade Group is prioritizing eco-friendly production and sustainability environmental policies with the responsibility of moving forward with its “green factory” identity.

Jade which designated the month of November as sustainability month that the president Abdel Fattah Elsisi will participate in the opening session of the United Nations climate change conference to be held from 6 to 18 November 2022 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. To raise awareness on the subject and improve environmental awareness, it carried out many projects and events in the field of environment, social responsibility and occupational health and safety, we have a great concern of the climate change conference, as we are preparing strong agenda for this major event.

Green Jade role in facing the repercussions of the climate

 One of the goals of Jade Group is to focus on sustainable development and save the environment. We must be part of solving the problem of climate change and searching for significant ways to maintain a clean environment by reducing the consumption of energy sources that pollute the environment, developing the energy system, water conservation, sustainability, and development of resources.

We are reducing our carbon footprint in a co-operation with our customer, under the umbrella of UNIDO (United Nations for industrial development).

Recycling

We started the process of waste segregation from the source, and we made the big use of the resources by establishing an integrated waste management system by cooperation with giant entities approved by the Egyptian Ministry of Environment specialized in recycling waste and converting it to other valued economic material, while ensuring the principle of safe tracking of waste in line with the decisions of the ministry of the Environment.

• Plastic waste: Several types of waste from nylon and plastic bottles.
• Food waste: A cooperation with Bioenergy Foundation for Sustainable Development of the Ministry of Environment and Jade, to start a project for recycling food waste and generating biogas (a biofuel that is a safe alternative to natural gas.)

Energy saving

We have a strong plan for energy saving, as followings:

1- Installing LED light bulbs instead of traditional bulbs with high consumption.

2- Improving the energy management system, as we signed an agreement with an Egyptian company specialized in energy management by saving energy and a tight plan to review the efficiency of air pumps (compressors).

3- Installing motion sensors for light that work automatically.

4-Using temporary lighting bulbs in the corridors and climbing stairs.

5- Installing inverter air conditioners that save electricity by making a tight plan to sell traditional air conditioners with high electricity consumption category. And replace them with inverter air conditioners of low consumption category. It is known that the inverter feature saves energy up to 50%.

6- Increasing reliance on renewable energy by installing solar light to be an alternative to damaged electricity bulbs, as a renewable source of Energy.

7- Jade Textile started at the point of supplying the electricity used in production from sustainable energy source.

8- Approximately one – third of the electricity consumption at the company’s Ismailia factory - the first factory located in the free zone- will be met from the solar energy systems when the project is completed. it relies on renewable energy of 1660 KW/H capacity, about 2946 megawatt/H productivity.

9- The project will also pave the way for the entire electricity consumption in the facility to be provided from sustainable energy source with a plan to gradually expand in all facilities.

10- Developing the roof for Jade Textile to install tube light that can be used in day lighting.

Water conservation

 We believe that a drop of water matters. A complete water conservation file which including:

1- Recording water daily readers at fixed time to follow water flow and control it.

2- Installing additional meters to read the water consumption in the different sections.

3- Achieving the maximum efficiency of water use in production processes, installing water treatment unit in Jade.

4- Changing the water sprinklers in the gardens to save the water.

5- Using Dual Flush toilets, which save around two liters of water /Flush.

6- Installing water-rationalization filters in the faucets, save up to 1.5 liters / minute.

7- Searching for innovative solutions for water treatment unit like using antibacterial glass instead of traditional sand.

Adopting the environment file and increasing Green areas and afforestation

Increasing Green spaces that create an atmosphere of psychological balance for employees and spread environmental awareness.

1- Enhancing “Green awareness” campaign by hanging stickers related to the environment and save earth.

2- Educate employees in Jade and newcomers with our Green Jade initiatives.

Kindergarten service

Jade which continued to develop its international operations in line with its growth strategy and “People first” philosophy in line with its global country identity, put signature to new ground in the free zone where it produces, and its kindergarten service commissioned at Ismailia facility and preparing to establish another kindergarten in 10^th of Ramadan facility by 2023.

Gender Equality

Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world, therefore Jade Textile have established an office for gender equality in Ismailia facility, and we are looking forward to spread this culture in all our facilities.

Jade said “No to Violence Against Women”

Jade of which identity as a “Women- friendly company” have progressed and have signed many projects intended to its female employees, became a part of the international day for the elimination of violence against women on 25 November.
