Textile & Apparel Industry Supports vTexShow

Leading industry players and associations have come forward and are supporting vTexShow, which is scheduled from 21-26 September 2020. Virtual Textile Exhibition is considered as the way forward to meet the customers in this challenging time and presenting their products to global customer base.

The textile industry is gradually showing signs of recovery as the lockdown eases. There are tricklings of good news. Bangladesh apparel exporters have begun getting export orders again. This will mean that India's textile exports to the neighbouring market will again pick up. The Apparel Export Promotion Council has said that India's apparel exports would clock a growth of 40% this fiscal. Indian garment exporters have begun getting sizeable orders from European and American buyers. These orders were usually bagged by Chinese exporters. The focus on manmade fibre apparel is evident.

China's exports of apparel to Japan have improved in the last few months. This again is a sign of improving consumer spending and economic conditions in Japan. Similarly, apparel sales in the US have picked up in July, even as analysts caution that this may not necessarily be the beginning of a long term recovery.

And in India's domestic market, retailers are hoping that the festive season will release some of the pent up demand of the last few months.

Retailers are increasingly using e-commerce and social media to attract buyers, and are also going to the consumers, as consumers hesitate to move to shopping centres & malls. It's these green shoots that are encouraging the industry to come forward and begin networking with clients, customers, peers.

And Textile Excellence has created the perfect platform for this purpose. “vTexShow is our initiative to complement the industry efforts to reenergize,” say the show organisers.

Some of the exhibitors at the show include AGS, Archroma, A.T.E. Enterprises, Batliboi, Britacel, Colorjet, Datacolor, Danesh Weaving, GCL International , GOTS.

Lakshmi Card Clothing, Rabatex, Saurer, Sitaram Spinners, SPGPrints, T4Texultants, Texfab, Texperts, and others. A.T.E. Enterprises, besides showcasing its latest technologies, will have emphasis on upgrading legacy machines. This is an important focus area today, when the industry needs to upgrade and modernise, but may not be able to go all out immediately.

For Archroma, the platform would be useful to showcase its various environment-friendly solutions, and its latest anti-microbial finishes to the industry.

The industry finally realizes the need for digitalization to improve efficiencies in the supply chain, and solution providers such as AGS, Colorjet, Datacolor, would be the perfect partners for the industry.

Danesh Weaving will launch some of its most innovative hemp based textiles on the vTex platform.

The industry will need to focus on quality, environmental, social standards and certifications, and service providers such as GCL International and GOTS have an array of very relevant international certifications to offer. Moreover, GOTS is going the extra mile to ensure that the industry is offered the necessary services even during these times of lockdown.

The spinning industry in India is quite resilient, and as market activity picks up, the spinning sector is again somewhat upbeat. In this scenario, companies such as I-CC, Saurer have extended their complete support to facilitate the smooth running of spinning mills. Vikas Sharan, Director, India Operations, Saurer Textile Solutions Pvt. Ltd., is hopeful about the market conditions: "The overall spinning capacity utilisation in the country is arund 75%, with top groups operating at 95% plus. The market will improve further during 2021. With regards to 2020, it's almost the similar to 2019 in terms of market size, " Rabatex, Sitaram Spinners, SPGPrints, T4 Texultants, Texfab, Texperts, and others are also present at the show, with not just their latest suite of products and service offerings, but also to show solidarity with the industry, and to help the industry move ahead boldly.
